Great news - the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced that loan limits will be increased again for 2020, making Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae loan underwriting more accessible to a larger pool of homebuyers. The new loan limit for single family homes in the DC area is $765,600 (2-unit buildings $980,325, 3-unit buildings $1,184,925, and 4-unit buildings $1,472,550). Check out UrbanTurf's list of the 7 DC neighborhoods with the highest home price appreciation in 2019. In parts of DC and Maryland, the number of homes sold has decreased year-to-date, while the amount of homes sold in Maryland has generally increased. Across the board, these homes have been selling faster than last year while prices have decreased, meaning that the supply for homes is higher than it was a year ago, and that there is more room for buyers to negotiate. |
Our Favorite Holiday Gifts |
| Normally Martin loves Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin candle, but for the holidays he loves to gift the Pomegranate Noir for its rich and inviting scent. Peruse all the scents here. |
During the busy holiday rush, Jeff loves to give the gift of self care. Your friends will love you for treating them to a perfect afternoon of pampering with a mani/pedi from the beautiful nailsaloon on 14th, or a spa treatment from Deluca Massage on P Street.
| In this season of curling up on the couch in front of the fire, Olivia loves to give the gift of a great story. She enjoys anything by George Pelecanos - they're fast-paced reads and it's always fun to pick out the real DC locations in his novels. Check out Washingtonian's list of 30 DC stories. |
After all the cookies, cakes and pies, there's always been one standout in Dito's eyes. Williams Sonoma's Peppermint Bark, available in white or dark chocolate, is sure to please. Pro tip - stock up on extra for yourself and friends when it's marked down after the holidays.
