Across the DMV, the time homes were on the market before being sold, on average, decreased year-to-date. At the same time, the median price of homes sold increased by 11.2% in DC, 4.2% in Montgomery County, and 6.1% in Northern Virginia compared to the prior year. (September 2018 vs September 2019) For the most part, more homes have sold faster and at a higher price point throughout the DMV, indicating the continuation of a strong market. |
- Seeking information about your own credit score is always a soft inquiry, and won’t cost you points on your score, unlike a hard inquiry from a bank for a mortgage application.
Preferably use less than 30% of your available credit each month and ideally less than 10%. Raising your credit limit could help keep your percentage of utilization down. Closing an older credit card won’t help your score and it might actually hurt you. Every time you open a new credit card - or take out a loan or qualify for a mortgage - the overall average age of our credit takes a hit, and the hard inquiry subtracts more points from your credit score. Shopping around for a mortgage getting multiple credit inquires can hurt your credit, but when credit scoring companies see different lenders pulling your credit score around the same time, they bundle multiple requests as a single query. So shop different rates at the exact same time, within 14 days or less. 21% of consumers studied in 2012 found errors that resulted in modifications by the credit-reporting firms. Not all credit reports are accurate. You are entitled to a free copy of your credit report annually from each of the credit-reporting companies (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax). You can request them at AnnualCreditReport.com.

Our Favorite Fall Recipes |
| As a vegetarian, Martin appreciates these hearty brussels sprouts. Bring some brightness to the dish with the addition of pomegranates. You can even include a light vinaigrette to take it in a warm salad direction. If nuts are a no-go, swap the walnuts for some toasted parmesan crisps. |
If you want to up your game on the cranberry front, Jeff loves this relish of fresh cranberries, pomegranates, and pistachios. It's a great dish to make a couple of days ahead of time, freeing you up to focus on the main event.
| Olivia's favorite turkey alternative for your Friendsgiving or holiday party is Momofuku's Bo Ssam. - Affordable for a crowd. - Pairs well with ANY of your favorite side dishes. - Complete crowd pleaser, nothing is left no matter how much you make. Pro tip: skip the ssam sauce. |
The holidays are undoubtedly Dito’s favorite time of the year. What could be better than family, friends, and food? At Thanksgiving, nothing is more satisfying than all those marvelous sides, stuffings and dressings. This recipe from Ina Garten has become a family favorite!
